I opened this office in February 2010 to look after children in the community in an outpatient setting.  I assess, diagnose and help manage children with medical conditions like asthma, environmental and food related allergies, children with heart murmur, infant with poor growth, juvenile arthritis, ear infections, epilepsy.

As a Canadian certified pediatric endocrinologist,  I receive referrals from family doctors and general pediatricians  regarding children who need assessment for growth problems, thyroid conditions, puberty questions,  prediabetes, type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus.

I also look after children who struggle with developmental and behavioral difficulties including ADHD, anxiety, OCD, autism spectrum disorder.  I helped the children (and their families)  with the diagnosis, management options.  I organize appropriate referrals to sunny Hill for children who need assessment for autism spectrum disorder, complex developmental and behavioral difficulties, Fetal alcohol spectrum disorders.

I qualified from medical school in 1996 (25+ years)  and trained as a pediatrician and pediatric endocrinologist in the UK.  I moved to Maple Ridge, British Columbia in 2010.  Over the last 13 years, I have met more than 4000 patients.

Acute pediatrics (on-call ) at Ridge Meadows Hospital, 11666 Laity St, Maple Ridge, BC V2X 7G5

I helped set up the pediatric observation unit at Ridge Meadows Hospital in 2013.  The change in model of care helped improve access to appropriate pediatrician lead management of children with acute medical conditions in the local community.  This also help ease the burden on primary care providers ( family doctor, nurse practitioner’s, midwives, emergency department). I provide regular on-call support at Ridge Meadows Hospital, Maple Ridge along with the rest of my pediatrician team.  I help manage children with acute medical problems like pneumonia, minor head injury, concussion, acute asthma, infant’s with jaundice, failure to thrive.  I also support the obstetric team and attend high-risk deliveries ( cesarean section, instrumental delivery ).  I help resuscitate and stabilize  newborn infants when they present with respiratory/ other difficulties at birth.  I regularly teach neonatal resuscitation to doctors, nurses, nurse practitioners, respiratory therapists at Ridge Meadows Hospital.
